Day 1. Arrival in Katra and Vaishno Devi Darshan
Arrive in Katra, the base town for the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage, and check into your hotel. After settling in, you’ll begin your pilgrimage journey to the Vaishno Devi Temple, located about 12 kilometers from Katra. The trek is either done on foot, by pony, or on horseback, depending on your preference and physical condition. The scenic trek offers mesmerizing views of the mountains and valley. Once you reach the Vaishno Devi Temple, seek darshan at the Bhawan, where the goddess is represented by three pindis. Spend time in the temple, take part in the rituals, and soak in the spiritual atmosphere of this holy place. After darshan, you can either return to Katra for the night or choose to rest at the Bhawan before heading back. Overnight stay in Katra.
Day 2. Katra to Patnitop
After breakfast, check out of your hotel in Katra and begin your journey to Patnitop (about 2-3 hours drive). Patnitop is a charming hill station located at an altitude of 6,640 feet, offering stunning views of the Chenab Valley and surrounding mountains. The place is known for its lush green meadows, pine forests, and pleasant weather. On arrival in Patnitop, check into your hotel and relax. You can take a leisurely stroll around the town or visit nearby attractions like Nag Mandir (an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva) and Sanasar Lake. Patnitop is also known for its adventure activities like paragliding, trekking, and horse riding. Overnight stay in Patnitop.
Day 3. Patnitop to Mantalai
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and drive to Mantalai, located around 20 kilometers from Patnitop. Mantalai is a peaceful and less-visited destination, famous for its lush surroundings and the Mantalai Lake, which is considered a holy spot and a major attraction for pilgrims. The drive to Mantalai offers scenic views of the Trikuta Hills and beautiful alpine meadows. Upon reaching Mantalai, check into your hotel or camp, and take some time to relax in this tranquil environment. You can visit the Mantalai Lake and the nearby temple of Lord Shiva. The area around Mantalai is perfect for nature walks, meditation, and photography. It’s a great place to relax and connect with nature. Overnight stay in Mantalai.
Day 4. Mantalai to Katra & Departure
After breakfast, take some time to explore the peaceful surroundings of Mantalai. You can visit the Mantalai Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, or enjoy a nature walk by the lake. Afterward, drive back to Katra (about 3-4 hours) and relax before heading to the Katra Bus Stand or Jammu Railway Station for your onward journey.
